About CAPA
The Creative and Performing Arts Faculty is committed to assisting students achieve their personal best through a variety of creative mediums in Music, Photography and Digital Media and Visual Arts. The faculty aims to effectively communicate creative processes to students, build skills in arts making and enlighten students with recent and historical works of significant role models in the arts areas. Students will have the opportunity to explore the arts in a safe environment that promotes student engagement and hands on learning.
FACULTY FOCUS AREAS
Continue to add resources to engage students fully in their learning.
Evaluate curriculum and continue to provide relevant teaching and learning experience for students.
Continue to improve HSC results for students to achieve to the best of their ability.
Further promote the school through the community based projects that bring "the arts" community into the classroom.
Continue to develop staff learning to ensure that students are given the very best and up-to-date experiences to aid in student learning.
Embed activities that engage gifted and talented students so they reach beyond their potential.
OUR STRATEGIES
- Provide quality teaching and learning opportunities that immerse students in arts making. Staff will continue to match teaching and learning programs to current trends and practices into each CAPA classroom.
- Gifted and talented students will be extended by entering competitions and activities outside of the classroom promoting individual engagement and success.
- On-going evaluation of programs to embed literacy and numeracy into each lesson.
- Engagement in learning through hands-on activity based learning opportunities.
- Build partnerships within and beyond the school community building learning partners with our student.
